Our History

The New Hampshire affiliate of the Learning Disabilities Association of America has been in existence since 1968. Over the course of over 55 years, we have built a rich history of supporting individuals who experience learning disabilities and their families. Our rather unique feature is that we partner with parents, educators and other interested personnel and work together to provide support, education and advocacy.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were able to offer in-person conferences on timely topics which were summarized in our newsletters each year. Looking back, here are just a few of our past speakers and their topics:

  • Richard Lavoie: The Motivation Breakthrough
  • Jessica Minahan: Between a Rock and a Calm Place (Promoting Mental Health)
  • David Rose: Universal Design for Learning
  • Richard Guare: Executive Functioning: Impact on Academic Performance and The Common Core

As we go forward into 2023, we are excited to be working toward offering the same type of experienced and motivational speakers, beginning with virtual events.
